HILLSDALE, Mich.—Hillsdale Hospital is adding Dr. Adam Carr to its Hillsdale Orthopedics practice beginning August 1, in partnership with the Family Practice & Orthopedic Care Center owned by Dr. Richard Hartman and Dr. Yanni Chen out of Coldwater, Mich. Carr joins full-time orthopedic surgeons Dr. John Anderson and Dr. Parthiv Patel; nurse practitioner Ken Rubin; physician assistant Nicole Salloum; and University of Toledo Orthopaedics visiting surgeons Dr. Maged Hanna, Dr. Osama Elattar, Dr. Christopher Sanford and Dr. Vithal Shendge.

“Our orthopedics practice continues to grow and we are excited to add Dr. Carr to our robust team of surgeons and advanced practice providers,” Rachel Lott, chief communications officer, said. “We are always looking to increase access, reduce wait times and introduce high-quality providers like Dr. Carr to our community.”

Carr, who grew up in the Coldwater, Mich., area, earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. While in medical school, Carr mentored and guided first-year medical students and prospective medical students through the COMrade Program and as an Early Assurance Program mentor. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at McLaren Greater Lansing Orthopedic Surgery and was named chief resident in his final year.

“I look forward to serving patients here in Hillsdale, treating any orthopedic injury from the neck down,” Carr said. “I am proud to be part of the hospital’s effort to expand local access to specialty care.”

During his residency, Carr also participated in a number of scholarly activities, including co-authoring a paper demonstrating the correct technique for a specific test performed to identify a particular condition that limits motion through the ankle joint. He is a member of both the American Osteopathic Association and the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics.

“Dr. Carr will see patients in the clinic two days per week and will perform surgery in the operating room at Hillsdale Hospital one day per week,” Lott said. “Patients can now begin scheduling with Dr. Carr.”
