Hillsdale Hospital Named 2025 Top Workplace in Michigan and 2026 Top Workplace for Frontline Workers

Employee feedback determines awards in cultural excellence for hospital

Hillsdale Hospital has been named a 2025 Top Workplace in Michigan by Detroit Free Press and a 2026 Top Workplace for Frontline Workers by Bucketlist. This list of employers is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage LLC.

The confidential survey uniquely measures the employee experience and its component themes, including employees feeling respected and supported, enabled to grow, and empowered to execute. When an employer is recognized as a Top Workplace, it is a direct result of input from employees.

“Our Hillsdale Hospital team is proud to be a Top Workplace in our state and industry,” said Jeremiah J. Hodshire, president and chief executive officer. “We know how important cultural excellence is for both our staff and our patients, and we continually strive to make this an incredible place to work.”

The Top Workplaces program recognizes organizations that have created a workplace of cultural excellence for their employees. Over the past 19 years, tens of thousands of organizations have participated in the Energage Workplace Surveys, which collect employee feedback to determine the award winners.

“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “That’s something to be proud of. In today’s market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That’s paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”

On the 2025 Top Workplaces in Michigan list by the Detroit Free Press, only 201 companies were named, and only 58 were named in the category of employers with more than 500 employees, including Hillsdale Hospital. On the 2026 Top Workplaces for Frontline Workers list by Bucketlist, Hillsdale Hospital was one of 68 organizations with more than 500 employees.

“It takes a strong team working together to create a culture of excellence, and this feedback from our Hillsdale Hospital employees is evidence that we have achieved just that,” said Stacy Feltz, chief administrative officer of Hillsdale Hospital. “Because of our values and our dedication as individuals, we form a united team to care for our community.”
