Students from Hudson, Coldwater schools receive tuition support for nursing education
Hillsdale Hospital announced the recipients of the 2025 Future of Nursing Academic Assistance Program: Courtney Rodifer of Hudson High School, Teagan Arredondo of Hudson High School and Kylee Barnett of Coldwater High School. These students were selected to receive tuition assistance of up to $10,000 per year for up to five years ($50,000) to pursue their nursing education. As recipients of academic assistance through the Future of Nursing program, students commit to working at Hillsdale Hospital upon completion of their associate degree in nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), along with their nursing license. Since 2001, Hillsdale Hospital has been supporting local students pursuing nursing careers while
encouraging that talent to stay in the Hillsdale community. “These are exceptional young ladies and we’re excited to support them as they pursue a healthcare
career,” said Stacy Feltz, Hillsdale Hospital’s chief administrative officer. “We look forward to having them return to Hillsdale Hospital to serve our patients
and community.”
Courtney Rodifer is a member of the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society and Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), where she achieved titles of state champion and international qualifier in 2024. She received academic and athletic recognition in competitive and sideline cheer, cross country and track.
“Hillsdale Hospital is close to where I’ve grown up, and is where I was born,” said Rodifer. “I love that Hillsdale Hospital has maintained its independent ownership. I hope to find a supportive and encouraging work environment at Hillsdale.”
Teagen Arredondo is involved in National Honor Society, HOSA and volunteered at various sports camps. As a student athlete, Arredondo received recognition as a scholar-athlete in softball, basketball and cross country. She was inspired to pursue a career in nursing after seeing the nurses care for her brother who spent a month in the neonatal intensive care unit.
“Hillsdale Hospital is known for its excellent reputation and high-quality care,” said Arredondo. “Their team-oriented environment will allow me to grow, contribute to healthcare and pursue new opportunities for my future. I’m excited about the potential to make a positive impact at Hillsdale.”
Kylee Barnett earned her certified nursing assistant credential and has spent countless hours working and caring for others while also balancing a full high school course load. Since she was young, Kylee had an interest in the healthcare professions and is planning to further her career as an RN.
“I want to help make a difference for others,” said Barnett. “Hillsdale Hospital has helped me growing up so I would love to be able to help other people who need it.”
