Doris Whorley, RN, Director of Risk Management & Recipient Rights Advisor

Doris Whorley graduated from Kellogg Community College with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and earned her Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Business Administration from Spring Arbor College, now Spring Arbor University. She earned her Associate in Healthcare Risk Management & Quality Review from MHA.

Doris joined Hillsdale Hospital as a nurse aide the summer after her high school graduation and has spent her entire career serving the hospital in a wide range of capacities. Starting in 1968, she worked primarily in the emergency department as a licensed practical nurse and a registered nurse. Twenty years later, Doris became a house supervisor, a patient advocate, and in 1995 became the director of nursing & risk management. Later, she added the roles of recipient rights advisor for the behavioral health unit. Doris currently serves Hillsdale Hospital as director of risk management and recipient rights advisor.
