
Jeremiah J. Hodshire, President & CEO
Jeremiah (JJ) J. Hodshire is President & CEO of Hillsdale Hospital. He co-hosts Rural Health Today, a nationally recognized podcast about the healthcare triumphs, challenges and opportunities facing rural America. He joined Hillsdale Hospital in 2010, serving as Director of Organizational Development, Associate Director of Medical Education and Chief Operating Officer before he took the helm as President & CEO in June 2020. Since then, he has recruited providers to the area, developed specialty services lines and grown the hospital’s net revenue by 45% while maintaining an above-average margin for a non-profit rural hospital.
Hodshire holds a BA in Political Economy from Hillsdale College, and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership & Administration from Concordia University. He serves as a board member for the Economic Development Partnership of Hillsdale County and on the board of the Michigan Health & Hospital Association (MHA) since his first appointment in 2022, and also serves on various MHA councils. His recent awards include the Louis Gorin Award for Outstanding Achievement in Rural Health by the National Rural Health Association, the American Hospital Association Grassroots Champion Award, and the 2026 Baldrige Foundation Award for Leadership Excellence.
