Vaccination Registrations Added for Week of Feb. 1

GOOD NEWS! Hillsdale Hospital is excited to announce that we are opening a second COVID-19 vaccination clinic this week on Friday, February 5 for seniors aged 65 and older who are residents of Hillsdale County! Registration will open tomorrow morning, Wednesday, February 3 at 9 am here: www.hillsdalehospital.com/vaccinesignup. Please help your eligible family, friends and neighbors who may not have internet access to get registered!
MORE GOOD NEWS! We are using a new registration system that includes the following helpful new features:
  • Your selected time slot will be reserved for you while you complete your registration form, provided that you complete it within 5 minutes. It even shows you a countdown timer at the top!
  • As part of your first dose registration, you will also select a time for your required second dose which will be given on Friday, February 26.
  • You can register two people at the same time if needed (for example: yourself and a spouse, both of your parents, etc.), ensuring that both get registered for the same time slot.
Pfizer’s shipments of vaccine vials account for 5 doses per vial. When properly reconstituted, we get 6 doses per vial, which is consistent with Pfizer’s instructions. Thanks to the excellent work of our pharmacy team, specifically director of pharmacy Jeff Kauffman and pharmacy technician Connie Winter, we are able to vaccinate an additional 470 individuals this week—spots that will be opened up exclusively to seniors via the above registration process.
Please note that because doses are still limited, registration for this clinic will fill extremely quickly. Once the spots are full, no additional spots will be added. We would ask that you not call the hospital to request a spot or to be put on a waiting list as we will not have any available and we are not keeping a waiting list for doses we don’t yet have—we don’t want to create a false sense of security that we have a dose for you when we don’t know how many, if any, we’ll be getting each week until the Friday before. We also don’t want to prevent those calling with urgent medical concerns from being able to get through to the hospital due to an overload of vaccine requests. We appreciate your help with this! If you have questions or concerns, please email marketing@hillsdalehospital.com.
As always, we want to thank you, our community, for your patience in this frustrating process. We are limited by the amount of vaccine allocated to us each week and we know it’s disheartening when you try to get an appointment for yourself or your family member, but it fills before you can get one. We are hopeful that soon the vaccine supply will increase and everyone who is eligible for the vaccine will be able to get it as soon as they want it! Together, we are #hillsdalestrong.
