“I am proud that our team is able to offer UroLift™ to patients right here in our community, said Lauren Schneider, clinical nurse manager of surgical services. “It’s a safe, effective option that gets patients back to their normal lives faster, and it reflects our commitment to providing high-quality, advanced surgical care close to home.”

Over 500,000 men have been treated with the UroLift™ system. UroLift™ can be performed as an outpatient procedure under local anesthesia and rarely requires a catheter. When the prostate enlarges, it can squeeze the urethra and block urine flow, often resulting in urinary retention or an overactive bladder. UroLift™ is a minimally invasive option to relieve these symptoms by lifting and holding enlarged prostate tissue out of the way of the urethra.

Around 40% of men in their 50s and 70% of men in their 60s suffer from urinary symptoms caused by BPH, also known as enlarged prostate. BPH is not related to prostate cancer but is known for having direct effects on quality of life. Some patients experiencing BPH are treated with drug therapy, but 50% of surveyed patients report dissatisfaction with BPH medication and urologist satisfaction with the treatment has declined significantly in the last two years.

“Dr. Stockall has been at the forefront of our urology program since it began,” said Jeremiah J. Hodshire, president and chief executive officer. “He is a leader in his field and provides reliable, high-quality care for our patients every time!”
