Hillsdale Hospital to Participate in Great Give 2023

Community Foundation Partners with Nonprofits for Giving Tuesday

HILLSDALE, Mich.—Hillsdale Hospital is participating in the 2023 Great Give, hosted by the Hillsdale County Community Foundation. The event will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 28, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the HUB Activity Center, 1300 South Hillsdale Road, Hillsdale. Attendees can drive through, drop off donations or give online.

The Hillsdale County Community Foundation is hosting the Great Give to celebrate Giving Tuesday, an internationally recognized day for charitable giving. This is the first year Hillsdale Hospital is participating.

“It’s an honor to stand alongside many noble organizations that are all seeking to help our local community,” said Jeremiah J. Hodshire, president and chief executive officer at Hillsdale Hospital. “I have faith that this county will show up to help fill these needs by giving to the nonprofits at the Great Give. It’s an excellent way to support your neighbors.”

Hillsdale Hospital’s goal is to raise money for needed hospital equipment. These pieces will help promote safety and high-quality care for the hospital. The equipment includes a Hana Fracture Table, Workstations on Wheels, a generator for Hillsdale Orthopedics, an echocardiogram machine and an HVAC unit for the hospital’s laundry department. The last item is a HUGs Infant Security System to help prevent the abduction of babies in the hospital’s obstetrics unit.

Richard Moore, owner of Moore Insurance Services and member of Hillsdale Hospital’s board of trustees, will be present at the Great Give event to represent Hillsdale Hospital. “The Great Give is a wonderful way to kickstart the holiday gift-giving season here in Hillsdale County,” he said. “The Hillsdale community has been very generous in the past, and I’m looking forward to a great start to our giving campaign for Hillsdale Hospital.”

“We can’t do this without our community’s support,” explained Hodshire. “We’re counting on our Hillsdale family to help us provide this equipment for our patients and staff. This is all inspired by our Hillsdale Strong. Hillsdale First. campaign. To those who have already decided to give, no matter the amount, we cannot express a big enough thank you!”

Besides the event on Nov. 28, community members are also encouraged to participate in “Pre-giving,” held from Nov. 6 through Nov. 27, 2023. Those interested in giving during this period can do so online, or drop off or mail a donation. Further details can be found at www.abouthccf.org.
