Hillsdale Hospital’s Sleep Center has recently been granted accreditation by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) to diagnose and treat obstructive sleep apnea and other sleep disorders.
The hospitals newly acquired accreditation makes it possible for patients in this area to receive individual consultation, testing, and care of sleep related symptoms and associated illness.
The sleep center is located on the newly renovated Specialty Services Unit on the third floor of Hillsdale Hospital. Sleep testing rooms are private and comfortable with bathrooms and showers, in a homelike setting.
Although the majority of patients seen in sleep centers have symptoms of “sleep apnea”, which can range from mild to life-threatening, we also help manage restless leg syndrome, sleep hygiene issues and insomnia.
Dr. Gregg Patten, M.D., has been named the Sleep Center’s medical director. Dr. Patten is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, and sleep disorders medicine by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
All sleep studies are interpreted by either Dr. Patten, who consults with patients at Hillsdale Hospital Three Meadows Clinic (517-437-8366) or Dr. Chaparala, who consults with patients in the Hillsdale Hospital Specialty Clinic located at 30 S. Howell St. Hillsdale (269-969-6099).
