New space provides increased availability and privacy for infusion patients
Hillsdale Hospital’s new Center for Infusion Care location opens on Monday, October 5 to provide double the available chairs, an improved patient care space and increased privacy during infusions.
“Every patient deserves local access to care, especially when managing a chronic illness,” said JJ Hodshire, president and chief executive officer. “Expanding our infusion center will allow us to offer local, high-quality treatments to more patients needing regular or short-term infusion care. This expansion is an outcome of Hillsdale Hospital’s growth strategy, as we develop the programs and improve the services our community needs most.”
Features of the new infusion center include a larger space with privacy walls, four additional chairs to accommodate a higher volume of patients, and a more convenient and accessible location in the hospital for patients with mobility challenges. Patients can expect the same comfortable accommodations, including personalized care from infusion staff, plush recliners and iPads with preloaded content. The added chairs will make scheduling an infusion appointment easier and faster, ensuring each patient receives the care they need in a timely manner.
“Infusion therapy is a crucial treatment method for many of our patients,” said Randy Holland, chief nursing and infection control officer at Hillsdale Hospital. “Increased seating and privacy ensure that we can continue to provide high-quality, consistent infusion care to our community members.”
Hillsdale Hospital’s Center for Infusion Care partners with Community Infusion Solutions to provide comprehensive infusion care for patients.
“Every patient deserves access to excellent care without having to travel far from home. That shared belief brought Community Infusion Solutions and Hillsdale Hospital together in 2022, and it has guided our partnership every step of the way,” said Jacob Dozier, chief operating officer of Community Infusion Solutions. “Together, our teams have built an infusion program that patients can count on for high-quality care right here in Hillsdale. This is what rural health transformation looks like in practice: bringing specialized treatment closer to home through a partnership committed to quality and patient access. We take great pride in this expansion and are excited to serve even more patients for years to come.”
