Casual | Medical Imaging / Radiology

The technologist is responsible for administering radiopharmaceuticals and medications for patient imaging, processing data and enhancing digital images using advanced computer technology.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Associates or Bachelor Degree in an accredited program in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Must be registered through the ARRT with cross-training in Nuclear Medicine or advanced certification in Nuclear such as CNMT or NMTCB
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) (available through Hillsdale Hospital)

  • Must be available for on-call rotation

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs diagnostic nuclear imaging procedures in the Department of Medical Imaging according to physician orders
  • Must put the patient at ease, obtain pertinent history, describe the procedure and answer the patient’s questions
  • Administers radiopharmaceuticals and medications for patient imaging, processing data and enhancing digital images using advanced computer technology, providing images, data analysis and patient information for diagnostic interpretation, evaluating images to determine the technical quality, and calibration of instrumentation
  • Maintains Nuclear and other equipment in efficient operating order; performs preventative maintenance on a regular, scheduled basis; contacts outside service for major malfunctions
  • Performs daily and weekly QC/QA and performs all standard NRC requirements for Nuclear Medicine Safety
