Housekeeping Coordinator | Full Time (Days) | Environmental Services

Full-Time | 40 Hours/Week | 1st shift | 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. including Every Other Weekend| Environmental Services

Serves as a mentor and leads by example to the Environmental Services department while coordinating with other departments to ensure that housekeeping services are provided in an efficient and timely manner. (housekeeper / custodian / custodial / janitor / janitorial)

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent, experience required
  • Must be flexible and available when emergency situations require non-standard staffing
  • Must be committed to Service Excellence and embrace the Vision, Mission, values and culture of Hillsdale Hospital; and must be flexible, dependable, responsible and a team player with a favorable attendance record

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts beginning and end shift meetings with the department, along with delegating job duties to staff members
  • Assists the senior leader in the interview process of new employees, as well as providing orientation and training to the new employees
  • Coordinates the scheduling of department employees with the lead’s input
  • Inspects work performed to ensure it meets specifications and established standards while maintaining communication with staff members to promote adherence to processes and effective performance
  • Performs a variety of cleaning and disinfecting services in a manner that maintains high standards
  • Moves furniture and other heavy objects for routine & non-routine cleaning and when assisting in patient moves
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards
  • Uses equipment properly and reports needed repairs to the appropriate individual.
