Full-Time | 40 hours/week | Surgical Clinics
Assigns diagnostic and procedural codes for all patient records in Orthopedic, General Surgery, and OB/GYN clinics in a manner that is consistent with established policies and procedures as it relates to health information management.
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- RHIA, RHIT, CCS OR CCA certification required
- Medical terminology, computer knowledge in coding and abstracting required; strong anatomy and physiology is beneficial
- Coding experience pertaining to surgical departments and clinics is preferred
- Responsible for reviewing diagnostic and procedural codes for all hospital related activities for the providers within these practices
- Serves as a content expert for coding related questions for the provider teams
- Acts as a liaison between Hillsdale Hospital and 3rd party billing company
